I’m literally half asleep while writing this so I hope it all makes sense 🙂
Baby Growth: This week Blitzen is about 5 1/2 inches long (length of a bell pepper) and weighs 7 oz…but I know from the ultrasound this week that my little baby is actually weighing in at 9 oz 😉 He or she is moving those limbs like crazy – if it’s a girl then the uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If it’s a boy then his manhood is noticeable now (although it says he may hide it during the ultrasound!). I like this picture of what the baby looks like because the nose isn’t as huge! Have you ever looked at the mommy body next to it? I kinda felt sick when I saw the TINY passageway that baby is coming out of…
Belly Pictures: Special thanks to Robyn for snapping these pics of me this morning in our room in Atlanta before heading home 🙂 I’m about SICK of my hair curly but life has been so go-go-go that it’s just easier to do it this way! I’m also wearing my Copa Necklace from Stella and Dot for the pics (along with my cute weekly stickers of course!)
My Symptoms: While last week I was a total wreck so I didn’t notice many symptoms, this week I was too BUSY to notice many! We were at the beach from last Fri-Tues then I was in Atlanta from Wed-today! Whew. I’m ready for BED!!! But tonight a TON of my family is visiting from out of town so I gotta try to stay up 😉
Not as many headaches this week. I did notice my belly button is starting to poke out more (the top of it anyway). I’m getting very uncomfortable when I wear an underwire bra for too long. Fingers also get uncomfortable if I wear my wedding ring for too long.
While in St. Augustine I realized Disney is gonna be a challenge. We rested a lot, napped when Kye napped and I was still very exhausted. After three days I was pretty ready to go home and Disney is six days with four days of parks!!! Zoo Atlanta and the Aquarium were both another good Disney test run and omg…I was worn out after 3 hours, how am I gonna make it all day at Magic Kingdom?!? Zach says we’ll be renting me a wheel chair but I’m hopeful that the magic of Disney will just take over 😉
Weight: Didn’t weigh myself in Atlanta this morning…interested to weigh myself next Friday to see if the 6 lb I “gained” at the dr office was legit or just my full bladder!
Gender: Kye goes back and forth. After the ultrasound I feel even more strongly about girl. I think we’ll really be able to have a good feeling at the 4D. It’s SO fun not knowing and getting to guess 🙂 I realized we still haven’t come up with full names yet. We know what we’ll call the boy or the girl but don’t know what their second name will be. I LOVE the boy’s name we came up with! We’ve had the girl’s name for so long that the excitement of it has worn off for me but I think the boys name is very US. 🙂
Maternity Clothes: I SEE what Rachael started wearing ’em early on…I’m really uncomfortable in my normal pants already. I can totally still buckle them but wear a bella band (still too small for the belly belt) and the bella band just isn’t comfortable. On our trips this week I wore pretty much all dresses and skirts…SO much more comfy than that dang tight spandexy bella band around my tummy! If I had a cuter variety of maternity pants I’d probably bust ’em out but I have like ONE pair of each type of pants (jeans, khakis, etc) and I KNOW I’ll get sick of wearing them so I don’t wanna start too early.
Movement: Still feel it very often and I LOVE it. Especially now that I’ve SEEN the baby I can visualize him or her moving around and it’s such a special time to me. I am actually a little sad when I think I won’t get to feel this forever!
Sleep: Gah I can’t get enough of it. I totally could nap every single day!!! I’m FOR SURE more comfortable on my side now, especially with a pillow between my legs (my bumpil is my fav but, due to having left it too many times, I don’t take it traveling so a regular pillow has been working fine).
Cravings: I’ve been too busy to even WANT food. But when I do think about it all I want is a Subway sandwich smothered in oil and vinegar. YUM. Cosmic Brownies are still hitting the spot too. I did have a BIG seafood craving while in St. Augustine. I also didn’t like the pizza we ALWAYS get when we are there 🙁 Boo.
What I Miss: A first for me: I miss being at HOME!!! I seriously miss just lounging around with nothing to do. Once the fam leaves Monday I’m looking forward to a week with no plans and what I’d REALLY love to do is send Kye to a grandparents house, lock the doors and just stay in the bed for a FULL DAY with Zach! SLEEP, cuddle time and maybe some more Office sounds like HEAVEN right now!
Best Pregnancy Moment of the Week: DUH! The ultrasound and finding out that Blitzen is a HEALTHY baby!!!!!!!! Blitzen also got his or her first presents this week which made me feel SO loved! Mom got several sweet little girl outfits (she’s really got a hunch…) and Mrs. Charlotte got Blitzen a little giraffe stuffed animal from the Zoo. It really meant a lot to me that they got a little something for the baby b/c Kye had SO many little gifts while I was pregnant and I want Blitzen to have things too!
Questions/Concerns: HELP ME WITH DISNEY!!!! I need tips and tricks, especially while being pregnant! Even if you don’t have any Disney advice: give me some ideas for COMFORTABLE SHOES!!!!! I’ve heard Crocs are no good for lots of walking, my brother mentioned Toms? I wear my Rainbows all the time and they’re great but my feet are still hurting from the Zoo and I wore them there so I think they are out for Disney. Not a real baby concern I guess but it’s something I legitimately need help with…I’m even willing to sacrifice style for comfort in this situation (you just won’t see any full length Disney pics haha). We don’t go on the trip till September…but you know me…I wanna be prepared 🙂
Goals for the Week: I did have a LOT of fun this week!!! So I successfully completed my last weeks goal 🙂 This week I want to keep the house clean, make plans with friends who I haven’t gotten a chance to see since we’ve been so busy, and get caught up on the blogging. 🙂
Notes from Pregnancy #1: I was so confused about so many things the first time around, especially about whether or not I was actually feeling movement. I’m so glad this time I KNOW I feel the baby move!!! It’s my FAVORITE thing about being pregnant, for sure 🙂 I had a rough week this week during my last pregnancy…Nana wasn’t doing well, the ultrasound was a disappointment, and we found out Courtney was pregnancy with Payton. NOT that Payton is a “bad thing” but I was a little upset that I’d be sharing my pregnancy with Courtney..she had just had Colt (they are only 11 months apart and Kye’s in the middle of them both) so I just wanted our baby to get to be special ya know? It sounds kinda selfish, but sometimes it’s okay to be a little selfish! We did leave for our first Aflac National Convention to California so that was exciting! I didn’t realize, until I looked through my old journal, that this week officially starts my 5th month of pregnancy. It really is flying by fast. I hope that “Clover” would have my nose, skin and eyes and Daddy’s teeth, hair and facial shape. I think Kye does have my nose and eyes (not sure on the skin) but the poor kid DEF has my facial shape too…not sure on the teeth or hair??? I enjoyed the special attention of being pregnant the most and I kept having strange dreams that I’d forget to feed the baby.

Hello baby! Peek a boo, I see you! 🙂 Looking good Em! Definitely take some time for you. You're gonna wear yourself out girl! One day when your up in the ATL we should all get together!
I love your last pregnancy's notes, its so cool to compare week by week. It is so smart that you have the journals and the blog saved! As far as shoes go, I've heard from nurses and pharmacists who are on their feet 12 hours a day that they really like the Sketchers Shape Ups. I don't have any and have never worn them, but the pharmacist at my pharmacy is 60 years old and he got a pair and he can work 14 hours on his feet now. They have a huge thick sole and I guess it really helps with protection. Not sure on the price though…good luck, I know its awful when your feet are hurting!
maybe try Tivos,,,they are like my Chacos, but thinner , lighter, and not as bulky 🙂 still a sandal so you're feet won't get too hot
Hello baby, peek a boo, I see you!! Looking great Em! Definitely take some time for yourself and slow down! You are gonna wear yourself out, girl!! But glad you're having fun and lovin' life!! One day when ya'll are in the ATL we'll all have to get together! Oh and those Skechers Shape Ups are $100!! You can find shoes that are similar to those in other brands but may cost less. Lots of brands have them. Not very stylish but you did say you are tradin' style for comfort these days! LOL
Starting to actually look pregnant!! YAY, Blitzen is making an appearance. Glad you feel better after the appt. 🙂 See ya soon!! (P.S. Get some cute tennis shoes! Tennis shoes are the most supportive for your feet & best for your feet, back, etc.)
Aw you're soooo cute pregnant! I'm only at 12 weeks and just feel like a fat whale. lol Good luck with Disneyland. We just went camping last weekend and I was so miserable and tired the whole time. (I'd get some comfortable cute tennis shoes!)
