Back in OCTOBER (yes, the post has been a long time coming…) Zach took Kye on a guy’s morning out so Mom and I could go shopping for my birthday. While we were shopping I got a picture text of Kye at Lowe’s in an adorable apron and work goggles building a wooden bat! Zach just happened to run into Lowe’s when a Builder’s Workshop was taking place! We had NEVER heard of it before and now it’s a regular guy’s outing around here. Every other Saturday morning at 10 am Lowe’s gives away free kits for the kids to build with their parents. The kids get an apron and goggles to keep and they get to keep the finished product. What makes it even more fun is that they also get a certificate after each completed project and a patch to sew on their apron in that weeks theme! Zach loves this new tradition and even sews on all of Kye’s patches. Isn’t that precious???
Here’s like a MILLION pictures from all the Lowe’s fun from Oct-May (Zach took majority of them so no judging…)
First workshop ever!
Isn’t is so cute that Zach had someone take a picture of them together?
They did a three part series and made an entire train (Kye’s favorite!)
Snowman Picture Frame at Christmas
making a little game box
I actually attended this one so I could see the fun so the pictures are my doing 😉
Kye’s favorite part is helping with the nails
see? I totally helped…
proud Daddy
Robyn, Matt and Lorelai came along the day we made Valentine’s Day music boxes (I don’t think they plan to go again? Maybe it’s more of a boy thing…)
workin’ girl!
making a race car
he is SO proud to play with all the “toys” he built himself!
I’m SURE majority of you have a Lowe’s where you live and I highly recommend checking it out. You can learn more about the Lowe’s Build and Grow Clinics HERE (they have ones coming up this Sat and the 28th!). Also I heard Home Depot does one the first Sat of each month. You can learn more about the Home Depot Kid’s Workshops HERE. They are having super cute projects that would be great for both Mother’s Day in May and Father’s Day in June! Free AND made by your kid…what better gift is there? Kye made my mom a music box for Valentine’s Day at Lowe’s and she LOVES it!
I really, really admire both stores for hosting these type of events that are free to the public and promote family fun. It’s a GREAT thing for Zach and Kye to do together and I know it’ll be a tradition that continues through the years. Can’t wait for Blitzen to have his or her own little apron too 🙂
