The second upstairs bedroom will someday become Brittlynn’s bedroom. It has an even larger closet than the playroom and is currently our guest bedroom. I know this sounds silly but I can just see ahead in the future having our younger kids being all excited for the older ones to go off to college so they can take over their bedrooms π I have a feeling these rooms will be high real estate around here!
This bedding is from Ikea and we’ve had it forever. It was actually our bedding in our first home together! The lamp was Nana’s and the chair in the corner my parents had before I was even born! It’s beyond comfortable and I think it adds to that relaxed, beach vibe.

This dresser used to be yellow. It was my mom’s when she was first living on her own out of high school! I know, we don’t mind using people’s old stuff π Zach painted it white and it works!
Mom bought me the little girl sitting out when I received the student of the year award for my entire major in college :)The picture is from Kye’s 6 month photo shoot!
Right now the closet in the guest bedroom is used as my “craft closet.” Not that I do a single craft of any kind in there but it stores all my stuff. I used to be kinda into scrapbooking. We made senior scrapbooks in high school and I LOVED it. I got burned out though as it’s a LOT of work for very little appreciation. I enjoy blogging a lot more as it allows me to write which is really always been a love of mine. Plus it’s like 1000 times easier AND way cheaper! So I still have tons of scrapbook stuff that I keep here and use for parties and such. I should bundle it all and sell it but I’m too lazy π
Another view of the chair, also the entertainment center. It’s from Ikea and we have the same one in our bedroom! It’s supposed to be a wardrobe but it makes a great tv cabinet. Zach keeps all of his nintendo (and yes, ALL play systems are nintendo to me!) stuff in here!
View of the bed, we have it raised up so my wedding dress can fit under it

When Kye was born, Nana sent us this plant. Yes, it’s some kind of MIRACLE that we’ve managed to keep it alive this long. When she passed away I felt this enormous stress about keeping it alive. I will probably cry when it does eventually die. It was in Kye’s room up until our move and now it lives up here!

This dresser beside the bed was actually Kye’s changing table. I’ll discuss it more in Britt’s nursery post but we’ve had THREE of them and were supposed to be getting a 4th but the company now won’t answer our calls…it’s been nothing but a hassle. But Zach fixed this one and we changed out the hardware to match the tv cabinet and it works well in this space! The lamp, as I already mentioned, was Nana’s as was the potpourri dish (I bought it for her as a gift and got it back when she passed). The little Hawaiian thing is black sand from when Dad and I visited Hawaii my freshman year of high school. The girl (what are those things called?!?!) is one Katie got me when I was pregnant with Kye π
We joke that this room should be called Jordan’s room as I think he’s slept in it more than anyone else has. We rarely have over-night guests?!?! Maybe our kids scare people off from spending the night? Our doors are ALWAYS open! We live in a convenient stopping place when people head to the beach or Disney and we’d love to have company!

So your plant from your Nana has great potential. My mom STILL has a plant that she got when was in the hospital when she had me. That thing is almost 28 years old and still going strong! πΒ
