We took Kye to an FSU game back in 2010 (remember?). We decided not to go to one last year because I was pregnant and we did enough stuff during that time of the year (Disney…Hawaii…had a baby…). This year though Zach was eager to go to a game! It’s annoying how many of the times of the games aren’t announced pre-season so the first game that was at a do-able time for Kye we jumped on stubhub to buy tickets! It was FSU vs Wake Forest on Sept 15th at 3:30 PM. It meant skipping Kye’s nap but we decided it was better to do that and get home plenty early than have him getting home super late.
That morning we got up and went to Mrs. Charlotte’s to drop off Brittlynn. She and Mr. Rusty enjoyed some quality Britt time for the day! It will be fun next year when Britt can go along with us π
A couple family pics before we left!
Rocking out our Seminole gear!
When we talked about going to a game we actually talked about going with Casey and Jordan. Jordan is a big Georgia Tech fan so he and Zach wanted to go to a GT game together and since we’re FSU fans we wanted them to come to one with us. We started talking about it during our Disney trip and we were excited that it all worked out so wonderfully! We went to the FSU game that weekend and the boys went to the GT game the following weekend π
We left bright and early and made a stop for some pre-game grub. Check out how pumped this kid is π He ate his ENTIRE waffle. He was an eating machine all day!
The Bacon’s!
I told you our child can chow down!
Part of the Parker clan π
BACON π
I love the awesome view in this picture. Kye was super pumped about the statue and how the spear has a constant flame burning. The bottom of the statue says “unconquered” Casey was all about the history of it (typical history teacher right?!?!) and how the Seminole tribe was never defeated or something π
Doing our chop!
Love it!
I hadn’t ever used StubHub before but it was pretty user friendly and worked out great! We had pretty awesome seats and paid the price we would have paid for a regular priced kids ticket. Not bad!!! I had to pump during the game and security actually gave me issue with it. For real. Like they weren’t going to let us bring in our book bag and we had to be pulled to the side to talk to a higher up and explain why we had a book bag and show her the stuff in it. The things I do for my sweet baby girl π
Singing the national anthem
We are SUCH routine type people…even when we don’t try to be. It just so happened to be the Military Appreciation Day just like it was last time we went. So we got to see the planes fly over from Moody Air Force Base again! Kye loved it!!!
Leading up to the game Zach showed Kye lots of FSU You Tube videos. Kye’s favorite part? Chief Osceola. Seeing him ride across the field on Renegade was THE highlight of the day for us. I’m thankful we got the car parked (found us a free parking spot…you know how we roll haha), got through security and found our seats quick enough so we didn’t miss it. Zach even said watching Kye’s face when he saw Chief Osceola was his highlight of the day. Such a good daddy π
Getting ready to ride!

Gotta have the double chop π

I need to print a copy of this one for Kye’s room!

GO NOLES!!!
The game being at 3:30 we assumed it wouldn’t be too hot. I mean around that time it was actually nice weather down here. We were all comfortable for about 10 minutes. Then it was SWELTERING. I went to go pump and ended up being gone for over 40 minutes because while I was in the bathroom I saw a girl pass out. Like fall and hit her head on the cement ground and started convulsing type pass out. All the other college drunk girls just stared at her so I, of course, jumped into action. I barked orders for the other girls to find help then stayed with her until someone came. The police that came were SO RUDE to the poor girl. Turns out she was not drunk and instead was diabetic. Her husband came in the bathroom to help support her once we got her out of it. I was kinda trapped between her and the toilet seat in the stall where she passed out and I felt awkward leaving. I finally suggested that I’d go get her some ice so then when I brought it back I politely left. On my way back to our seats I saw another girl being carried out from passing out due to the heat. I overheard some of the medical staff saying that they had over 10 girls pass out in just our section. It was CRAZY hot. And I’m sure majority of them had been drinking which, duh, doesn’t help in the heat.
Glad I packed the fans!
Aunt Casey got an iced lemonade so I got one for Kye too. He was SO PUMPED about it. It kept him hydrated, cooled off, and entertained. For sure worth the $5 π And I managed to sneak a few bites myself!
I thought of Uncle Spear throughout the day…I LOVE our “Fear the Spear” shirts!!!
We decided to get Kye his own jersey to wear for the big game! I hunted and hunted and found the best deal on Amazon. I’m hoping it’s big enough on him for him to be able to wear next year too π He was SO excited the day it arrived!!!
Cheering on his team!
SO thankful Jordan was there to actually pay attention to the game with Zach π
PS: Don’t they look SO SKINNY?!?! Thanks Advocare!
Lemonade twins π
Reppin’ our shades π
Honestly, I paid next to NO attention to the game. I preferred to watch Kye and talk to Casey π We did win though! Let me google the final score…58-0! Dang we KILLED ’em!!! It was such a blow-out that we ended up leaving before the game ended. It was nice to beat the crowd and get back to our car so we could blast the AC the whole drive home. Kye had such a great time and I know the rest of us did as well! I’m thankful Casey and Jordan went along with us…it was such a fun day together! We were able to get home in time for me to nurse Brittlynn and spend some time with her before getting the kids to bed on time! It couldn’t have been a more perfect day!!!
You can see our last game (2010) here! It’s funny because Kye actually enjoyed the game more at 18 months old than he did at 3 1/2. Being older the heat bothered him more and he got bored faster. I did bring along a note pad so he did some drawing and note taking and the iced lemonade helped but he’s not quite old enough to pay attention to the football (although he did, in spurts). He still LOVED it and had a great time but I def think he’ll enjoy it even more next year! π

Looks like a fun (and hot) day! I can't believe they gave you trouble taking the pump in….I figured saying "breast pump" to a man at the gate would just get you right on in. lol!
Is that Britt's Disney skirt? π The family pictures are so good. I also thought of your Uncle Spear! What kind of collar does his jersey have? it looks braided? Quite possibly the best blog picture ever is Jordan and the bacon hahaha. Your tomahawk chop hand made me LOL Where did you get Kye's glasses?? Their mascot is SOOO un-PC haha.
Okay, seriously, next time you come to Tallahassee you must let me know (if you have time) so we could meet for lunch or something!!! I'm a hop, skip and a jump from Tallahassee π
