This year we are trying to “spend smart” so my goal for Halloween was to find the kids costumes that would be cute, yet cheap. I asked Kye what he wanted to be and he said Woody. SCORE. Toy Story Halloween costumes for the win.
Since Kye had a Woody themed Birthday party it seems like everyone has been buying him Woody stuff.
He actually has TWO sets of the Woody hat and belt haha.
Through all the gifts he ended up having an entire Woody costume.
Like the one that would cost us at least $50 from Disney Store. And everything still fit!!!
I was pretty excited that he had his entire Halloween costume taken care of and it didn’t cost us a thing 🙂
Of course he then changed his mind and kept talking about wanting to be a pirate for Halloween…I told him that if he wanted to get candy from people he’d have to be Woody. No further discussion needed 😉
But even if your friends and relatives haven’t been buying your toddlers Woody gear left and right, it’s still super easy to put together some adorable Toy Story halloween costumes!

Toy Story Halloween Costume: Woody!
Last year it was a MESS trying to get Kye to be dressed up.
He didn’t like it
He asked everyone he met what they were going to be for Halloween. He couldn’t wait to wear his costume. It was fun to see him super pumped like that!!!
It’s super easy to get the full toddler Woody costume, and it’s reasonable, too!
Getting his boots on…
Jessie Costume for Toddlers
Since Kye wanted to be Woody… it only made sense to have Brittlynn be Jessie.
At the time, it was near impossible to find a Toy Story Jessie costume for an infant or toddler.
Not so much these days: this one in particular is super cute!
And here’s another one with pants if you’re in a colder region!
When in doubt DIY, right?
I bought all the supplies (thanks to Crissy for the jeans!) and literally put it all together the night before she had to wear it for our church Trunk or Treat event.
I LOVE how it turned out and people didn’t realize I’d made it which is always a good sign, right?
I wish I could have had her wear a hat too. But I knew better than to try.
So I used the hair bow she wore to Kye’s party 😉
I literally spent less than $15 on BOTH of their costumes!!!!
If you would like to know how I made the Jessie costume you can read my instructions here!
Much like her brother was last year…Brittlynn was NOT a fan of dressing up.
Actually, she was just in a funk for that entire month haha. Anytime I got out the camera THIS is the face I got:
I gave up on her and just focused on Kye.
He was SO eager to have his picture taken.
He wanted to bring his Bullseye from his room to use as a prop haha! HUGE improvement from last years costume experience!!!
I’m not sure where it came from but my child has become a HAM.
He is ALL about some posing and did all of these poses 100% on his own.
Zach and I didn’t want to discourage him but we were holding back the laughter as the stuff he came up with
What is this pose???? Let’s call it “the squater” haha
It makes me totally laugh out loud…
Sassy Cowboy?
The hat set is made for KIDS yet it’s already too little for my child’s head. Zach rigged it up with a string to keep it on him 😉
Giving a thumbs up? Or making a gun? You decide!
My favorite!
I REALLY wanted a picture of them together in their Toy Story costumes…
At least ONE child likes the camera right??? I’m sure Britt will get to this point someday!
More attempts at Britt pics. I mean I made the dang costume…I gotta have ONE cute picture of her in it!!!
hahaha
To make it Toy Story family costumes, I dressed up as Barbie and Zach dressed up as Ken! It worked perfectly!
The best I could get of our Woody and Jessie!
I really, really am so happy with how their Toy Story Halloween costumes turned out!
They were cute, simple, and comfortable for them to wear.
I didn’t want Brittlynn’s first Halloween costume to be something she wouldn’t be comfortable in.
It’s ironic because they were both Disney characters for their first Halloweens!
Kye was Prince Eric, remember?
I know that I won’t be able to do themed costumes every year…but I hope I can keep it going to awhile. I really love that they match 🙂

HOW CUTE!!!Britt's faces make me laugh. ;-)Something else that makes me laugh?… Whatever Z is wearing. SERIOUSLY?! He's always so stylin but this is a little beyond for me. LOL 🙂 Gotta love a guy who is confident enough for pleated shorts 😉
What the heck is Zach wearing?!?! I'm sorry Zach… did Emily buy this?
