Morgan and Adam’s Wedding

I was so glad the timing worked out for us to be able to attend Morgan’s wedding. She is Zach’s first cousin (on his mama’s side) and I got to know her a lot better when we were both bridesmaids in Casey’s wedding! She is SUCH a sweet person and deserved to have an amazing wedding day!

The wedding was in the morning and was at Honey Lake Plantation which is actually the same place where Casey got married. It’s BEAUTIFUL and I was looking forward to going back there. After just getting over my “mommy guilt” from not having Britt at Disney with us, I added some more guilt into the mix on the day of the wedding. It was about an hour drive to get there and there weren’t going to be many children attending so Zach and I did not feel comfortable having Britt with us. She’s well behaved and would have been fine, I’m sure, but I don’t think it’s fair to her to expect her to ride in a car that long and then have to be quiet for a wedding. Thankfully Katie offered to keep her for us! It worked out great!!!

We decided to bring Kye along…originally we were going to leave him at home too but there was a home FSU game that afternoon and Honey Lake is super close to Tallahassee. Why not go to the wedding then just drive over to catch the game? It worked out perfectly with the timing of everything and it was a good “prize” for Kye’s amazing behavior during the wedding!

I love to take pictures (obviously haha) but I feel awkward taking a lot during times when there is a professional photographer there. Why take pictures during the ceremony when Javon was there doing his thing and capturing way better photos than I would ever be able to? I do wish I’d taken a few more than I did so I could show yall some of the details of everything. Especially Morgan’s dress! It was GORGEOUS!!! Very vintage/antique feel to it, very my style 😉

Kye was seriously amazing. The child was so patient and quiet and just overall an angel. Seriously! I was SO proud of him and it was nice that Zach and I could both enjoy the ceremony and enjoy visiting with friends and family without worrying about any discipline/parenting issues. Casey and Jordan got married inside the chapel and it was beautiful. I love little white chapels and, legit, used to always say I wanted to get married in one myself! Morgan and Adam had their ceremony outside of the chapel and I thought it was so neat too!

Dr. Jared Bailey married the couple and he did a phenomenal job. I mean if he wasn’t a dang doctor I might would suggest him quitting his day job and just start marrying people for a living 😉 He is also Morgan’s cousin but on her mom’s side (yall know that EVERYONE is related in this town haha!). Zach has always really liked Jared (I mean Dr Bailey) and I have been getting to know his wife, Julie, better and adore her! I’m really hopeful that all of us will get together sometime as I think it’d be so fun!

I LOVED the music during the ceremony. They played very modern stuff and it made me want to download some new songs on my iPod when I got home. She walked down the aisle to One Thousand Years and I seriously had that song stuck in my head for like a month afterwards. I thought it was such an awesome song when they used it during Edward’s and Bella’s wedding in Twilight but I love it way more now after seeing it in real life at a wedding! I also really loved how they both went into the chapel and rang the big church bell at the end of the ceremony to celebrate their new marital status. So neat!

Naturally being in the same location brought back SO many memories from Casey and Jordan’s special day! I think we said “remember when” like at least 100 times when we were there. I keep meaning to look into the cost of renting the cabins they have there as I do think it’d be a great place to vacation even for a short weekend get away! There isn’t a lot for kids so it’d probably just be a good mommy/daddy trip 😉

After the ceremony we all headed over the reception. It was also at Honey Lake but in a different location than where Casey’s was held! While we waited we signed the quilt they used for their guest book. I love that idea! I seriously wish I could get married ALL over again…now with Pinterest there are SO MANY awesome things to do for weddings. Even I have a wedding pin board and I have zero reason to have one haha. I mean I did used to want to have a side job as a wedding planner. So maybe that board will come in handy then 😉

Kye was an official “big boy” during this day. I just relaxed and let him do his thing! He was SUPER pumped to drink lemonade (I feel like it’s the best thing to give him when there isn’t other options? It IS better than soda or sweet tea right???) and did such a good job waiting in the warm sun before we went inside. I didn’t bring any toys or things with us, and was glad I didn’t regret that decision! He was awesome! I know I keep saying that…but seriously it could have gone much differently. I think, as a parent, that weddings and funerals are probably the most nerve-wracking times. I mean if your kid misbehaves in those two occasions, you WILL be mortified, right?

Mr. Rusty and Mrs. Charlotte were on an Aflac cruise. Brad was taking his insurance exam (and he passed on the first try! SO awesome!!!). I think Trey had to work? So it was just our small crew! It was a great opportunity to visit with Mema more and we all had a blast during the reception. Casey was a bridesmaid so we didn’t see her as much as everyone else…but we have pretty much planned Jolee’s wedding for her now 😉

Everything about the wedding was beautiful…but the food. OH MY GOSH. It was THE BEST food EVER. Seriously. EVER. They had stations set up all around the room and the choices were amazing. The pancakes were almost better than Zach’s. The fried mac and cheese was sinfully delicious. The potato bar was to die for. They even had the same cheesecake that Jordan had for his grooms cake and we were crunk to get to eat that again! I mean, I could just go on and on. And I’m not even a food person at all. But it was so good that I couldn’t stop talking about how good it was!!!

Casey looked BEAUTIFUL (and I like to think that my spray tan side job helped a little to make her look even more beautiful than normal!). I LOVED her bridesmaid dress and think it’s so awesome how far those dresses have come over the years. She, legit, could wear that dress again. I also think her hair looked stunning (Bobbi, another of Morgan’s cousins, did all the girls hair and they all looked great!). Casey is such a beautiful person inside and out! I told her last night that she needs to quit dominating my blog 😉

We matched the wedding colors: and didn’t plan it!

Mema’s beautiful smile!!!! Love this of them!

What the heck am I doing? I have no neck!

We ate and visited and ate some more and then, before we knew it, it was time for the send off! Another cute detail was the send off. They had black eyed peas for us to toss. Kye was ALL about that junk! He picked them up off the ground and took several home with us (and several also ran through my washer and dryer from being in his pockets haha). It was very cute and a perfect ending to a beautiful morning!

Awesome vintage car they used to leave!

As we get older we’re getting less and less wedding invitations in the mail. It’s sad that we’re growing up and passing this phase of life. I know a lot of people don’t enjoy attending weddings (men especially!) but I LOVE it! I especially enjoy attending them with my husband. You can’t help but to naturally think about your own vows and you always leave feeling a little refreshed in your relationship. This was such a great morning and a wonderful time together! I hope that Morgan had the day of her dreams and that they enjoy a lifetime of happiness!
