You can see all the decor and planning that went into Britt’s 3rd Birthday Party here 🙂 One thing I really struggled with was what to have Britt wear for the party. I looked and looked for Donald Duck clothing. Um. Good luck! I tried to see about getting something made for her. Like a Donald Duck inspired outfit. And all the ones I found were super expensive. I ended up browsing Etsy and stumbled across the perfect little dress! It’s a vintage dress from the 1960s. It was her size and only $11. I love it! And, most importantly, so did she 🙂
These are from the pics I took for her invites!
Classssic
I am SO happy with how the invites turned out!
Gotta give another shout out to Liz Bassey Studios for designing them for me!
The day of the party was also Britt’s actual birthday. She was SO excited!!! I got her birthday video set up and rolling before everyone arrived and she was so adorable watching it 🙂 I know party guests may not really fully appreciate the slideshows I put together every year…but each child? They LOVE them. Really the kids don’t see many of the pictures I take of them so it’s all new to them and fun to see their pictures on our tv 🙂 We hear a lot of “look! it’s me! i remember that!”
This two pics describe our big kids pretty well:
Kye is calm, sitting nicely. Watching intently.
Britt is wild and all over the place 😉
The party started at 11:00 which is the same time Tess eats. I pumped prior to the party and asked Mema if she’d mind going in Tess’s room and feeding her the bottle. Tess, at this point, still wasn’t 100% good to go with bottle feeding and I felt like her being away from the crowd would make it a better situation. I was pretty busy with the party but I heard she did great with the bottle!
I love that Carter and Tess are on the same schedule 🙂
Ready to get the party started!!!
Casey is always going to be the “fun aunt” 😉
The “big kid” cousins!
G-Mama
It ended up being a really small party. I found out later that Kori’s invite got lost in the mail (I felt so bad!) so she didn’t know about it and I also think that December is just a tough time for people to be able to make it to parties. Robyn, Cooper and Lorelai and Katie ended up being the only non-family there! It was a smaller crowd and, really, it allowed it to be even MORE fun for the kids! It all went great!
She LOVES her Big Papa!
My kids both love their birthday balloons, birthday videos, and the FOOD at their parties the most!
Tess was pretty overwhelmed with everything. Our family is pretty big. And VERY loud. Bless her! She didn’t like it! I know when I was little I was very reserved and quiet and I remember I didn’t like going to people and didn’t like kissing people. I just was, I guess, “shy.” I had someone recently comment that I need to socialize Tess more because she gets upset in loud, large crowds. But I was the same way and I’m VERY good in social situations now. So I’m not worried about her one bit 🙂 Although I do feel bad for her when we’re in those type settings, it also makes it more difficult for us since she is upset, and I HATE that everyone doesn’t get to see her sweet happy demeanor!!!
G-Mama to the rescue!
I seriously got tears when going through these pictures. Our children are all SO blessed! Look at all the awesome memories we are making together and the love that surrounds them 🙂
Carter is SO sweet holding Tess’s hand 🙂
Hat decorating time!
Lorelai just gets prettier and prettier!
Kye is always about the food 🙂
Britt literally was obsessed with her hat. She never wanted to take it off!
Pin the Tail on Donald
Of course Casey and Zach were the only adults to want to try haha they are so competitive!
grubbing and playing…multitasker
This was how I was majority of the party: burp rag over my shoulder, pouty baby in my arms 🙂
The BIG event of the day was the duck races. The kids went NUTS over this!!! I love, love, love these pictures because you can really see the fun they are having!
It took Cooper and LL a minute but don’t worry they got crunk about it too 😉
I don’t think I’ve ever seen pictures showing Kye this excited about something! Kid was PUMPED! We may need to do this again at his party!
Carter won!!!
I love Little Mama laughing in the back ground with Kye 🙂
All the kids…intensely watching this race…
and then there’s Britt just off in her own little world 😉 I love how she’s just her own unique person!
My Princess 🙂
Coloring pages are always a must-have party activity!
The present opening went awesome this year! I’m not sure if it was the smaller crowd…or maybe because our own little family is so massive now that I was just too absorbed into them to notice what else was happening around us 😉
Britt is the easiest child to please. She LOVES accessories. Any accessories! It was truly a testament to how strong Britt’s personality is that multiple people bought her things they knew she’d like. She got a lot of accessories and was SO excited about them. Her favorite present, she later told me, was Aunt Katie’s gift which included hair bands and glasses 😉
Zach’s face pretty accurately describes the craziness that is our little family now!
Carter was only a few days past turing 6 months old and kid was already on the move!
Such a sweet Daddy reading a princess card
I love the way Tess is looking at her big sister
I’m so thankful to everyone who came to the party! It was a really fun time! We missed those that couldn’t make it but appreciate everyone who could! Just for record keeping for Britt here is who all was there for her 3rd birthday: G-Mama, Big Papa, Aunt Courtney, Uncle Brad, Colt, Payton, Aunt Casey, Uncle Jordan, Carter, Mema, Jolee, Mrs Robyn, Lorelai, Cooper, Aunt Katie, Mommy, Daddy, Tess, Kye and of course Britt!
We love you Britt!
You can look back at Britt’s 2nd birthday party here and 1st birthday party here! Can’t wait to see what crazy theme she comes up with next year 😉 (Sidenote: that huge Donald is still at the foot of her bed watching her sleep haha)
