After our fun morning at the beach we headed back to the hotel pool to play a bit and get sand-free before getting settled in for naps! Once back in our room the silliness took over and the kids danced around taking turns wearing Daddy’s beach hat 🙂
I had plans for a special lunch for Zach and I to eat while the kids were napping so I started cooking it and the rest of the fam cuddled up and watched a bit of Nemo!
We rarely get to eat one of my favorites: Cheesy Spinach and Artichoke Dip
We indulged and watched Parks and Rec while the kids slept!
I also baked dessert to take with us over to Katie’s family’s cookout…I have several desserts pinned and thought it was a good chance to try one out. OMG this was AMAZING. It’s called Cookies N Cream Oreo Fudge Brownies. It’s LEGIT and is def something I will make again someday…but only when we have a lot of people to share it with b/c it’s dangerous 😉
We attempted to get some July 4th pics prior to heading over to Katie’s beach condo…but none of them turned out super amazing or anything!
CLASSIC
Handsome boy 🙂
I loved Britt’s dress! Found it at Thred Up!!!
I thought the back was so beach appropriate 🙂
Katie’s was so fun, as usual! It was nice having the kids be old enough to actually ENJOY our time visiting with everyone! There were a couple new faces this year and that dessert went quick 😉 Kye got a special treat and drank lemonade. It was HILARIOUS hearing Katie’s dad tease Kye about the lemonade the entire evening. I was so thankful both kids behaved so well, last year it was pretty embarrassing how much Britt cried and cried while we were there. I love traditions and I adore all of the Hitchcock family so it was a great afternoon!
After we left that evening we got Britt to bed then let Kye stay up to wait for the fireworks! He was SO excited this year and wasn’t as out of it and exhausted. Unfortunately there was some smoke covering our view 🙁 We could hardly see them at all!!! Next year Britt will probably get to stay up with us to watch them so I hope they are better for her 🙂 At least Kye is able to see fireworks at Disney so it wasn’t overly disappointing that they didn’t work out this year for the 4th.
Usually the 4th of July falls at the END of our vacation, but this year it was at the beginning! We were excited to still have so much fun to come 🙂
