Today is kicking off our Babywise Friendly Blog Network Week. The Babywise Friendly Blog Network is a team of bloggers who are all mothers and who all use Babywise techniques in parenting our children. We all offer different views and insights on our blogs and often work together writing on certain topics and guest posting on each other’s blogs. Want to learn more about The BFBN? We have a big week twice a year where we each write on the same topic and this time we decided to keep it broad, simple, and the number one think people think about when they hear the word “Babywise” and that’s SLEEP! Each of us will be posting on this topic and this week will be filled with many helpful, relatable, and reliable posts.
First up Valerie, from Chronicles of a Babywise Mom, is sharing How to Solve Sleep Problems for Toddlers and Preschoolers.
Two big culprits she mentions in her post in causing sleep problems are lack of exercise and lack of mental stimulation. I personally hadn’t ever thought of either of these as being a cause for sleep problems and it gives me a LOT to think about.
Many days my children wake up from naps and don’t really have a lot of exercise before bedtime as we’re typically in the evening rush to make dinner, have some family time, and get in the bed! It’s a GREAT idea to try to incorporate more physical exercise into our evening routines as everyone knows we sleep our best when our bodies are truly tired!
Be sure to read Val’s post here for more on solving sleep problems for toddlers and preschoolers!
