I know y’all have been going through some Brittlynn withdraws! 🙂 For Kye’s first Easter my mom bought him a Lovie. She got him his monkey and we planned on it being his attachment object. It worked! He LOVES Monkey and it is his favorite thing…however we didn’t plan on the other attachment objects he has (a blanket, a pillow and another stuffed animal). It was always just Monkey until we took away the paci then he clung to the other things as well. I’m hopeful that since Britt doesn’t use the paci on a regular basis that she’ll just have one attachment object. Since Monkey was such a hit Mom bought Brittlynn her own Lovie for Christmas. It’s a sheep…so we need to decide if we’ll call it Sheep or Lamb??? I think Sheep but then she also has a sleep sheep so it can be confusing!
Even though the Lovie’s are all made from breathable material, I’m not putting her Sheep in the crib with her. Like Kye, I fear that she’ll get attached to burp rags since she’s a constant spitter and ALWAYS has a burp rag nearby. I’m trying to expose her to her Lamb/Sheep as often as I can. I use it a lot during her awake times and she enjoys chewing on it and cuddling with it! In time I’ll probably invest in a second one (it’s great having two for Kye when laundry day comes around) but I’ll probably hold off to make sure she really does choose it as her attachment object 😉 I took a couple different photo shoots of Kye with his monkey when he was a baby (here and here) so I thought it’d be fun to do the same for Britt!
Kye wanted to show Britt his Monkey too 😉
I love how each of them have the kids names and birthdays on them
She was not in the best mood for pictures…
hilarious face
teething baby means that everything goes straight in her mouth
Where’s Brittlynn?
I have a similar picture of Kye licking Monkey
Happy Girl!
I love the tradition of each child having a different Lovie. Courtney liked Kye’s so much that she actually got Payton the Hippo one and she still sleeps with it every night too. I can see this being something that each of our children have! They are great because they can be personalized, they are super soft and cuddly, are breathable, and are machine washable! Now we just have to decide on what to call Britt’s! Sheep or Lamb? Yes, I know I’m lame with the names…but Monkey is Monkey so we’ll just stick with naming them after the animal that they are 😉

Name her lamb because lamb sounds a little bit more girly than sheep.
I miss her!!!! and I love the colors of this dress, super cute 🙂
She looks so pretty in that dress!
