Britt is 23 Months Old!

Britt turned 23 months old on November 6th.

Only one more What to Expect post after this one (whoooo hooo!).

Before I know it I’ll be back to doing newborn weekly posts for Little Leo huh? 😉

As usual I’m using What to Expect the Toddler Years to see where Britt is in her development compared to the norm for her age.

what to expect at 23 months old

I decided this month to use some pics of the kids together.

Zach took them somewhere on a Saturday morning and LOVES getting to dress them.

Isn’t that so cute?

He really does enjoy getting to pick out their outfits haha!

Usually, he picks stuff they have yet to wear and usually it’s a tad dressier than the occasion calls for, but it’s a sweet gesture!

I snapped some pics of them in their “Daddy chosen” attire 🙂

reading together!

Britt can do everything a 23 month old should be able to do including kick a ball (it’s the only thing on the list).

She can also do everything a child her age will probably be able to do including:

  • combine words
  • identify 6 body parts by naming
  • use 50+ single words

Britt can also do the one thing a toddler her age may possibly be able to do which is put on an article of clothing (she helps put on her shirts, can put on her own shoes, and attempts to do her own panties)

She can also do everything a 23 month olf may even be able to do including:

  • identify 4 items in a picture by naming
  • use prepositions

there are some of Kye solo for her monthly post…oh well 😉

I read over this chapter and majority of it was issues with dressing.

It can be an issue for us…sometimes Britt has a strong opinion about what she wears.

But at this age, I’m the boss and I decide.

She may protest a little but she gets over it!

We do have issues with her hair…she acts like it hurts her when we brush it so I appreciated the portion of the chapter about hair brushing tips.

I never thought to brush her hair before bathing her and I bet that would help make it an easier process!

Really this chapter didn’t apply too much to us…and to be honest I’m battling some INTENSE “night sickness” right now and don’t feel like typing anymore haha.

So here are some cute pics of the kids instead of my rambles 😉

You can see Kye’s Month 23 post here!

I’m glad I re-read it b/c it gave me some good reminders that I missed when I skimmed over this chapter!

If you want to know more about your child’s vocabulary or tips to encourage positive self-esteem then that post has it all 😉

Glad it's not just my daughter who acts like I'm torturing her when I brush her hair! We go through bottles and bottles of detangler!
