This year was the year we celebrated Easter with my mom. I know I’ve mentioned it before…but if you’re engaged be sure to have the “big talk” about holidays. It’s SO important to have that talk and decide together how you will celebrate the holidays. We divided ours up prior to marriage and we both are happy with the decisions we made. Easter is the only holiday we alternate and it’s nice switching off! Zach’s family had us on Kye’s first Easter and Mom had us on Britt’s!
It’s wonderful living so close to Mom because we could let the kids nap at our house then just buzz over there as soon as they woke up. I nursed Britt at 3 then when Kye woke up we headed over there. Right away we got our hunt on 😉
I REALLY appreciate that Mom didn’t do any candy 🙂
I even hunted a few 😉
score!
Spencer (I found him my junior year of high school…he’s still been hanging at Mom’s since we moved out though!)
Great idea to put in the eggs…little toy cars!
And stickers!
Britt’s Easter Basket
Cute little bib!
Kye’s basket
Mom gets REALLY into holidays and loves to make them exciting and fun. She’s so creative! This year we played “Let’s Make a Deal.” Inside our eggs (the adult ones anyway) were numbers and we then would open the box with the corresponding number. But some of them said “skip a turn” or “trade” or something and we could end up with different things than we originally opened. We weren’t sure if it’s really how you play Let’s Make a Deal (because we didn’t really make any deals?!?!) but it was fun all the same!!!
Zach gets REALLY crunk
Teasing the poor child with candy
(Yes, omg I let him have one don’t freak out…we’re not that mean!!!)
skip a turn 🙁
Cleaning supplies!!!
Gramma’s homemade bug spray (which really works great!)
PEEEEEEEEPS!
Zach cracks me up in all of these pics
A dress…just what he wanted!
Gift cards!
Lotion, Zach racked up on the girly stuff 😉
Britt enjoyed the show
My fav! Easter themed sweet tarts!
You can tell from all the pics that we got pretty into it…but you can really tell in this video 😉
Britt went down for her evening nap at Mom’s and once she went down the rest of us enjoyed an Easter dinner! Mom made these cute place mats for each of us:
NONE of us realized it then but I just noticed Zach’s name is wrong oops!
Our kids have opposite name lengths…Britt’s is extremely long
And Kye’s is SUPER short!
ADORABLE cake she made!
No, she didn’t get the idea off Pinterest, she got it from Reader’s Digest (totally the Pinterest before there was Pinterest!)
Robyn has mentioned how Lorelai does not like her picture taken. I think it’s an age thing…I often get this response lately when I bust out the camera
This bread bunny was SO YUMMY. Seriously, Kye and I pigged out on this bread!!! I LOVED IT!
(the meat was yummy too…but the bread was the fav for me!)
Most kids on Easter would be begging to eat more candy when they got home…not ours. He begged for more bread!!!
We had a wonderful fun-filled Easter! A big thanks to Mom for making it so special!
