Christmas Family Pics

I’ve always wanted to get professional pictures taken at the holidays to use for our Christmas cards but it’s just never made sense to spend the money at such an already expensive time of the year! Plus we get professional pictures taken decently often already. Our plan has always been to have pics taken four times a year for each child’s first year (newborn, 3 months old, 6 months old, 9 months old). When they turn one we then do a photo shoot at one years old, 18 months old then when they turn two just start taking them yearly. So Kye will have his one photo shoot for the year at his third birthday (which falls right at Britt’s three months so we can combine them, awesome!). The GREAT thing about Brittlynn being born in December is that her yearly photos will always fall at the perfect time to get pictures for our Christmas cards. You know I totally planned that when we conceived her πŸ˜‰

After we finished up with the newborn shots, Brittlynn was hungry so I nursed her while Zach and Kye got changed into Christmas outfits. After she nursed for a few minutes (not a full feeding…just enough to get her through) she and I got changed into our outfits. Then I nursed her for a few more minutes so she’d be happy for the shots and we snapped a couple before ending the session! Thanks again to Lindsay from Captured by Colson!

I also had to order the Christmas card from Walmart and do the one hour photo thing. While I’m not a huge fan of Walmart, I thought both of our cards turned out pretty great! I LOVE getting Christmas cards from people and enjoy reading the ones that write family update letters each year. I thought about doing that in the future then realized, duh, I don’t need to. If anyone wants to know anything about us they can come to the blog. It FOR SURE gives an update on what’s going on in our lives am I right?!?! It may be lame that I put the blog address on the card, I felt lame doing it and I’m SHOCKED that no one made fun of me for it but I thought it was a pretty good idea. Especially since majority of both sides of the family doesn’t read it πŸ™‚

Now that you’ve seen the FULL session, what do you think? I still can’t get over how amazing they all turned out. Right when we finished up I felt like it went awesome and I wasn’t disappointed when I saw the finished products πŸ™‚ I REALLY appreciate Lindsay’s patience and flexibility with us…it all went pretty smoothly considering we had a brand new baby, a mom who was pretty much still hormonally whacked, and a two year old! Be sure to contact Captured by Colson for your next photography needs – I know I plan on it!!!

I do NOT think it was weird that you put your blog address on your card! What better way for people to stay up to date than your blog?~The pics are so nice πŸ™‚ Although (like my photographer, Terrilyn) there are so many that its so hard to pick to put on the wall. I'm having real issues with that lately… πŸ˜‰
