Feb 5th has always been a day close to my heart!
In 2004 it was the day that Zach and I officially started dating
In 2006 it was the day that Zach asked me to be his wife
And in 2010 it was the day that my sweet sweet boy said “MAMA!”
Back on my birthday (Nov 1st) he said his first word ever. Being, of course, “dada.” That was so precious and adorable and all but by January I was sick of hearing it and was dying to hear something referring to me. Call it selfish but I’m with the kid alllllll day I think I deserve it!
FINALLY during dinner on Friday night Kye was talking up a storm as usual and started making an “m” sound. I tried not to get my hopes up but when it was time to clean up from eating he looked at me and said “mama” then he said it again!
I got tears in my eyes and praised him a thooooousand times. I completely forgot to help clean up dinner and just stood there hugging him over and over and over. He said “dada” while looking at Zach so I handed him to him then he looked at me, reached for me, and said “mama!” Totally melted my heart for sure!
Of course since then he’s hardly said it. That’s how Kye works, he masters something then MOVES on. Oh well! I did manage to get a video of him doing it, it’s not as sweet by any means as when he did it for that first time but it’s better than nothing! Hopefully I’ll be able to get a better video in the future.
At least all my brainwashing finally paid off (every time Kye would say “dada” I’d say “mama?” haha) and I know that my little baby knows who I am 🙂
