Last year when I took the kids to Hobby Lobby to pick out their ornaments the store was pretty cleaned out. I wanted to make sure they had a good selection this year so I took them early in November! We had to go up there for stuff for Britt’s party so I figured why not have them get the ornaments then too. I mean if you shop Hobby Lobby then you know they put Christmas stuff out in dang July!!!
Kye is VERY into Christmas themed stuff. He asked for a Rudolph train for Christmas and Rudolph themed figurine toys as well. It didn’t surprise me when he wanted the Santa ornament!
Britt is VERY excited about our Disney trip and loves whenever the castle comes up on the screen when they watch a movie so she naturally selected a castle 🙂
On the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend we hauled out all the Christmas decorations and decorated the tree. Florida State played UF that day so we rocked our FSU gear…except for Britt who happened to see her Tinkerbelle dress and wanted to be Tink for the day. Fine by me! I was so tired and worn out (thanks to Leo!) that I didn’t care 😉
Kye LOVED the whole process!
Britt ran around dancing with her baby most of the time. She is so funny!
Not only did Kye put up majority of the ornaments…when we were done he offered to pick up the needles that had fallen off the tree! My sweetie!
After we finished up we continued our Christmas traditions. Zach made a big pot of hot chocolate and this year Britt got to have her first experience with it! We all cuddled up and watched Rudolph. And, yes, I totally fell asleep. I think even Zach did for a bit? It was AWESOME snuggling!!!
As soon as Britt took a sip of her hot chocolate it got on the Tinkerbelle dress. Um, I’m not dealing with cleaning that beast. So we changed her into her Seminole stuff 🙂
I can’t remember how it happened but at some point Britt busted her mouth up. It’s such a regular thing around here at this point with her haha. She has REALLY sharp teeth and when she falls she often bites through her tongue. Or busts her lip. Or gets bloody gums. Oh the joys. She knows the routine and we always give her a wet wash cloth to chew on. So the kids moved to the floor to finish the movie so blood wouldn’t get on the couch. My accident prone child haha
Zach was wonderful that entire weekend. Let’s be real…he’s been AMAZING these past 12 weeks. I slept a lot and he took care of the kids and got a lot of the Christmas stuff done for me. I’m blessed!!! He even helped the kids decorate their little trees!
And he took the kids outside to put the decorations up out there!
Kye was also a HUGE blessing to me this Christmas season. When his present for Britt’s birthday arrived he asked me if he could wrap it. Um. Kid has SKILLS. He did SO awesome cutting all the paper and taping it and listening to my wrapping instructions!
He truly LOVED wrapping. So I let him graduate to adult scissors and every day after he woke up from nap we had a wrapping session together. He helped me wrap a good majority of the gifts this year. And he knew pretty much everything we had gotten for Britt and NEVER told ANYONE. Very impressive huh?!?! I know he probably could have been trusted to know I was pregnant, but we didn’t want to risk it just in case. He took the wrapping very seriously and we had a great system down. He would get upset when there would be newly wrapped gifts under the tree that he didn’t help wrap haha. He helped me put the bows on and everything! I was VERY proud of him and love that he is getting into the spirit of giving 🙂
Us with our pretty presents!!!
Most of the gifts 🙂

I know this is totally random and not post related – but that used to be one of my FAVORITE dresses for LL. I LOVE seeing it on Britt!
