I’m SO excited that Kelly from Kelly’s Korner is brining back her Show Us Your Life link-ups. I have met several blog friends through the Show Us Your Life posts and I have always looked up to Kelly as a blogger. She keeps it real and I’m all about that with my own blog too!
So today’s link-up is all about introducing ourselves and our blogs…here goes!
I’m Emily! I’m 31 years old and live in Valdosta, Georgia. As a little girl I would pretend that I was in a tv show based on my life (think Truman Show) and would talk to my audience through my mirror (think Zach Morris “time-out” style). I had this idea that I’d one day write a series of books based on the “tv show” of my life…and blogging is my way of fulfilling that childhood dream π
All of the pictures of me have at least a kid or two in them…the only solo ones are either with Disney characters or with food. So I’ll do one of each:
My passion in life is Jesus. I became a Christian at age 19 and am so thankful I know my savior and that I’m able to teach my children about Christ and the example He set for us! My goal as a parent is to filter everything through God’s Word and I strive my best (far from perfect though, of course) to follow God’s instruction manual as closely as possible.
I met my husband, Zach, in college and we got married the summer before our last semester. He’s truly my rock and I’m so blessed to have him as the head of our family. He is not only a hard worker and great provider but he is THE most hands-on Daddy I’ve ever seen. Growing up in a divorced home I have always wanted that stable family unit and I’m so thankful we both invest so much in making our marriage bond deeper and stronger throughout the years.

Today…better and more in love than ever!
My dream job was to be a stay at home mom and I’m so thankful that I’m able to live that dream today. I take my role as a parent very seriously and am always appreciative of the gift of motherhood. My blog covers our day-to-day lives. I’m pretty detailed and tend to over-share but I love that one day our children will have blog books of my posts to be able to look back at their childhoods.
Kye is our oldest and he just turned 7. He’s the typical first-born child. He loves to please and has such a strong, passionate heart for the Lord. He’s a natural leader and is SO smart. He’s an amazing older brother and is truly a blessing to us each and every day. He is so special to me because he’s the baby that gave me the gift of motherhood!
Britt is our middle child. She turned 4 in December and she’s the typical middle-child! Whew. Girl keeps me on my TOES. She’s got the most precious personality that draws people in and I’m praying that she uses that to be a light in this dark world. She is silly and creative and keeps us all laughing. She also brings the drama and is my biggest challenge, thus far, as a parent. She’s helped me grow and learn and I’m thankful for the way she pushes me outside of my comfort zone. I truly believe I’m a better parent to all of my children due to the ways in which I’m challenged by Britt! She is so special to me because she’s my first daughter, I will never forget the moment they announced “it’s a girl” and I held her in my arms!
Tess is our current youngest child. She is 19 months old and is PURE JOY. Her smile melts my heart. She’s been our “angel baby” and she’s pretty spoiled because of it π It’s been so fun to see her older siblings interact with her from birth and she’s really developing her own little personality now that she’s a toddler. She’s so special to me because she’s my “mini-me.” Every where we go people constantly tell me she looks just like me and I LOVE IT π
Our prayer is to someday have at least one more baby (hoping to get lucky with a son to keep things even!). This stage of life is SO BUSY but yet also so wonderful. Sitting around our dinner table laughing with our children is something I will always treasure. As a family we love to do things together. Quality time is so important to us and we especially love travel! Disney is our favorite place but we also love the beach π Zach and I believe it’s important to spend quality time alone, kid-free, to keep our marriage strong and we also enjoy traveling. We are excited to be heading back to Italy next month!
In my blog you will mostly find posts about our daily lives. Our trips. Our fun moments. My parenting struggles. You will also find things that I’m passionate about outside of just our day-to-day events such as budgeting and Babywise. I pride myself in being an open book and try to keep my blog as true to real life as possible.
I started blogging in 2008 and blog typically 5 days a week. Almost all of my real life friendships are somehow connected to my blog. I’ve made amazing friends through this online community and I’m hoping that by joining in this link-up it will be an opportunity to meet many more! Thanks for stopping by and getting to know us π
