This is Kye’s summary from June! I cover mostly everything in the weekly post so this is just a quick photo dump! π
Kye went off to Georgia Bible Camp for the first time this month. He spent the night away from home for 5 nights! BIG step for Kye and for Mama π He had a BLAST and made so many new friends as well as deepened friendships he already had. He learned so much about Jesus and I know he will love returning next year! Britt is already counting down until it’s her turn to join him (until we went to visit and the gnats were out and then she was singing a different tune haha)
Of course he and Daddy went to Walmart to get LOTS of snacks for the week!
Lice check!
So fun that Colt and Kye got to be in the same cabin!
I had my “spies” checking in and I loved seeing his BIG grin and all the fun times he was having. It was also so great to hear that he was helping others and being so kind to everyone. Proud mom!
I went to visit him at lunch one day and he was like “what are you doing here?!?!” He had so much fun with his buddies that I didn’t ride out there and randomly visit again π
Another pic from a sweet spy friend π
This is my favorite from the week! He got to do the zip line! It totally freaked me out and I’m glad I wasn’t there to witness it in person and only saw pics/videos after the fact haha. He LOVED it though and I love that HUGE smile on his face! Here’s the video π
We went out to see him during Chapel on Wednesday night and had a great lesson and a great time! He was PRECIOUS and so excited to see me and spent the whole chapel whispering to me to fill me in on what he’d been up to. Kye has this thing where he feels the need to confess every and any poor choice he’s made to me. Big or small, he likes to tell me every detail. It’s wonderful and precious and also sometimes silly the things he says are “bad choices.” I always want him to know he can come to me though and love that he feels that level of comfort with me!
Giving us a tour of camp!
On the last day they handed out awards and I already mentioned in the weekly post how proud we are of Kye for receiving Jr Mr GBC!
All campers got a certificate and a photo of all the kids in their cabin!
Cleaning up camp!
I love how much FUN Kye had and know he will continue to enjoy this experience for years to come π
I also mentioned in the weekly posts that Kye and Zach drove to Tallahassee this month for Kye to participate in the Drive, Chip and Putt competition. We knew going in that many kids in his age bracket would be hardcore. Kids who live in courses or practice all the time. Kye went in with very little practice and still did an awesome job. (I have no clue of any of his stats but I’m sure Zach remembers haha!). I’m most proud though to hear that he handled himself so well. Kye is very competitive and extremely hard on himself. I wasn’t worried about how well he’d do in the competition regarding the golf, but more how he’d do with his attitude if things didn’t go “just right.” Zach said he brushed it off very well AND that even though he didn’t “win” he still left happy and had a good time. He has an awesome drive and was encouraged to practice more often to see how he can improve next year! Here’s two videos Zach took: one and two
Freebies never hurt either π
Cooper’s birthday party really inspired Kye and he busted out some of our, very limited, super hero supplies and was “Super Kye!”
I’m pretty sure this is like a 2 or 3t haha I got it in a trunk of play clothes when he was a toddler bahaha
Yes, he even has a theme song!
Kye really enjoys his video game time so I tried to take some time out this week and spend that quality time with him doing something he loves!
Tess had her first dentist visit and I pulled out our dentist prep books and dang Berestain Bears! Kye read this and then said to me “Mom I kinda think the Tooth Fairy isn’t really real. Well like I’m 50/50 about it” Awesome.
Kye came down one morning with his Bible highlighted like crazy and told me he really wanted me and Zach to read this entire chapter because it was SO good.
Kye is very focused and serious a lot of the time. He is driven and has really shifted in a big way lately. He still LOVES life and everything but just doesn’t have that little kid enthusiasm anymore. He’s really growing up right before my eyes!
Fixing breakfast for the sisters π
He is often opting to just monitor the kids while they play rather than joining in with them. He’d rather sit and talk with me than be playing.
Kye went to lunch with Mrs Liz and several other adult members from church and had a great time. He can hang with the grown ups and fit right in π
He may be grown in many ways but then he still surprises me and gets really into stuff at the same time. Like TODDLER story time at the library he was all about it!
And he loves getting into theme for our movie nights too!
And collecting bugs π
Getting into the game…the selfie game π
I love summer. I love having Kye home with me every day and I’m so proud of him and thankful for him!
