You can read about our morning at Magic Kingdom here! After our fabulous lunch at Be Our Guest Zach took both kids to ride Splash Mountain. I headed over to the Christmas Shoppe to buy our traditional ornament (I got an Elsa to always remember our special time meeting her and Anna!) then just took my time heading over to Splash to meet them. I LOVE Disney. I love the feeling I get while at Disney. I love looking around and seeing magic everywhere. I could literally spend every single day there and never get tired of it. I enjoyed my walk through Fronterland and just soaked in the atmosphere as I strolled.
Zach called as I was walking and said the line for Splash was ridiculous so I ran and met him and got the kids out of line. Zach handled line duty while I watched the kids play in the playground area. Kye is borderline too big for it but he was mindful of the little ones so I didn’t mind him playing. It’s totally a pet peeve of mine when bigger kids invade a toddler play area. SO. RUDE.
This was Britt’s first time riding Splash. Honestly, I don’t think she’s a daredevil when it comes to rides. She wanted to ride because Daddy and Kye were, but Zach said she did NOT love it and is probably going to take after her mama and not be a fan of the fast rides. Totally okay by me! She didn’t cry or anything but she made it clear she doesn’t want to ride it again 🙂
I went and waited at the bridge to watch them as they came down in hopes of snapping a picture. Y’all. That’s an IMPOSSIBLE task. I took probably 75 pics of random people haha and totally missed my own family somehow! I did see them come by, just missed the big fall pic!
I love that as they went by Zach was taking a pic with the kids 🙂 A man after my own heart!
After Splash we went to Country Bears. Kye can’t stand Country Bears which makes my heart a little sad. Who doesn’t love the bears?!?! We will continue to force him to sit through it every visit anyway though haha it’s one of mine and Zach’s favs. We crack up every time. The songs are EPIC and if you are from the south they are even funnier b/c they are so legit!
The boys went over to Thunder Mountain and Britt and I headed to our together tradtion: Tiki Room. I won’t lie…I have her brainwashed to love it. I wonder how long that’ll last? 😉 I’m a sucker for the classics and it’s the perfect experience (and location) for us to do while Zach and Kye ride Thunder.
Some pics from Thunder!
Britt was so cute! We had to kill some time waiting on the boys after Tiki and she wanted pics with the totems!
She also enjoyed getting “spit on” by the camel!
I get a little bummed by how many rides Zach and Kye enjoy together at Disney. I’m pretty left out of most of Kye’s favorite experiences!!! I’m thankful that we still have “our ride” which is randomly Aladdin’s carpets. Kye LOVES to make me fly really high and has a goal of getting me wet by the camel 😉 I love his laughter and joy and it’s always a favorite moment of mine!
My favorite “Kye moment” at Disney though? How much he holds my hand. As we walk around the park his hand always finds mine and I just SOAK IT UP.
Jungle Cruise! Britt loves looking for the alligators 🙂
We had Kye convinced that the totems would spray water on him if he did a crazy dance for them bahaha! It was hilarious!
Our FAVORITE snack at Magic Kingdom is an Fanta Float. It’s orange Fanta with their soft serve. It’s yummy (and don’t confuse it with Dole Whip!). It’s usual location is by Aladdin’s carpets and Tiki Room but they recently moved it and traded spots with Dole Whip. To our surprise when Zach went to order it at the new location he was told by the cast member that they had NO CLUE what he was talking about. Whhhhhhat?!?! Zach tried to explain it but they just weren’t getting it! Thankfully they still had Orange Fanta as well as soft serve ice cream so Zach made the floats himself 😉
Patiently waiting for our treats!
Britt was so cute playing with leaves and singing “when the leaves fall off the trees” I thought it was a song she made up but later found out they sing it at school 😉 She totes took the credit though!
Man on a mission!
We shared them and Kye was strategic in his position of drinking his…an attempt to minimize the sharing haha
After our treat we headed over to Tomorrowland. I say it every visit: we always hit a parade at some point! It worked out where we were up front for the ending the parade this time and got to see some of our favs. It was one of those unplanned moments of pure magic 🙂
Tell me this doesn’t melt your heart! Britt saw her favorite (Donald) and flipped out 🙂
Waving goodbye to the parade!
Loved getting a text from Casey seeing these cuties having fun too 🙂
Another one of my favorite experiences with Kye at MK is Laugh Factory. He is HILARIOUS. He takes it extremely seriously. You are supposed to laugh to help them fill the tank so Kye laughs LOUDLY and ABUNDANTLY. It’s precious and infectious!
Kye’s seriousness about it makes us all get more into it!
This particular time was really funny. It was just a great mix of people in the crowd and it made it awesome. There is one part where a monster “reads minds” and asks you to pick a number. The girl who was chosen cracked me up because she accidentally said the number out loud right away! The monster went with it and it was super funny and allowed time for more jokes from the monsters too. The conjoined monsters are always awesome and they were especially funny this time as well. It was just a really great experience and gave us all that Disney giddiness feeling 🙂
Time for Buzz! We split up and each rode with each child!
Kye’s score the second time! Pretty impressive!
Zach has gotten the perfect high score in the past but was close this time!
Classic 🙂
We always let Zurg know that we DEFEATED HIM!
My fav!
At this point I’ve come to expect a rainy weather report for anytime we visit Disney. Leading up to the trip it was 100% chance of rain. It held off majority of the day and hit us while in Laugh Factory. We were able to sprint to Buzz but it was downpour and we were stuck after that. The boys wanted to go ride Space so they tossed on their ponchos and headed out!
I love this 🙂
Britt and I also decided to make a run for it. We headed to Carousel of Progress. I figured indoor and DRY. But it turns out if its thunder and lightning that they won’t run it. We ran through MASSIVE amounts of rain. Like legit up to my ankles! Tomorrowland is like a huge pit! We made it to the Carousel of Progress and got our seats only to sit there and wait. THEN it finally started and the boys texted that they were done! We were stuck and it’s a 20 min or so long ride. Oops!
Once we were done the rain was done too. The 100% chance of rain was true: it DID rain. It not only rained but it STORMED (which may have been a first for us at Disney?) but it only lasted about 45 min. Then it was done and we got to stomp in puddles on the way to Tomorrowland Speedway!
Britt wanted to drive. Biggest mistake ever for someone who gets motion sickness easily! Ha! I ended up taking over within a few minutes and spent the ride leaning over her to reach the wheel while pressing the peddles too!
I got her to drive a little bit and she did like it 🙂 It’s one of Britt’s favorite rides (so random) and it didn’t disappoint! We say it every time but this ride is MEGA due for a referb and it’d be SO EASY to make it a CARS theme?!?
Last visit Britt and I saw the Incredibles Dance Party while we were waiting on the boys to ride Space. Britt was zero percent interested in doing it. For some reason that decision really stuck with her and since that visit (9 months ago!) she has been talking a lot about wanting to dance with Incredibles next time we went. Britt’s all about some princesses yet her favorite movies are Incredibles and Big Hero 6 🙂 I was SO thankful the rain cleared up so the party could get started!
Y’all. Words can’t even describe how awesome this dance party was. I guess you could say it was incredible 😉 Seriously! Both kids broke it DOWN and had a blast doing it. They would have stayed longer if we would have been willing. They have both said it’s a “must do” for them in the future. It was such a great way to get to truly interact with the characters!
I got a little bit of a video of their moves but TONS of pics!
This is beyond awesome!
Zach was wearing a Mr Incredible shirt and saw a Cast Member tell Mr Incredible to go dance with him so he hid ha! I didn’t mind busting a move with Mr Incredible 😉
I know the days of being a wild and silly kid are going to end so soon. Soon he’ll be “too cool” and “too embarrassed” to just let loose and dance like crazy in public. I LOVED seeing Kye really having so much fun and just dancing to his hearts content. It was precious 🙂
All that dancing worked up an appetite! Since we ate lunch at BOG, we packed dinner!
And still got another favorite snack: cream cheese pretzel 🙂
Pouting for pictures 😉
We were able to snag fast passes for Zach and Kye for Mine Train and had a little time to kill before they would work so we hoped on People Mover. We very rarely stay at MK from open till close. Usually we park hop but I’m SO glad we didn’t do that this time. It was AWESOME to not be in a rush and just take our TIME and ENJOY each moment!
I made fast passes for the guys for Mine Train and Britt and I had fast passes to meet Ariel. We were early for our reservation so we hopped on the ride one more time!
Meeting Ariel!
Timing worked out great where the guys finished up and met up with us. We were 100% done with every single thing we wanted to do that day. And it was only 7! We still had a full 2 hours before the electric parade! How awesome is that?!? We decided to just let the kids decide what they wanted to do and they both agreed…
They wanted to go back to the playground at Dumbo! How random is that?!?! Zach and I didn’t complain because it meant some straight CHILL TIME for us while they played. Chill time at Disney? Oh it happened 🙂
We are never in Fantasyland at night…it’s so beautiful!
Zach went and got seats for us for the parade and I took the kids to pick out their pins for this visit. Britt got Elsa and Anna and Kye picked on with the Monorail on it!
Can you tell they are tired?
I love, love, love the electrical parade. I remember it from my childhood and love that my children now experience it!
Inbetween the electrical parade and the fireworks we did have some time and I tried to go meet Tink with the kids but then got scared we’d miss it so we hopped out of line and headed back. Neither of them minded!
I know SO many people say not to bring a stroller for a 6 year old. Guys. If you have one…bring it! It was great for the kids to get breaks. It’s also great to store all of our stuff! And when the fireworks ended, the 6 year old was the one that totally fell asleep in the stroller on the way back to the car! Britt, on the other hand, was ready for more Disney fun haha child kept on singing until we made it to the car…it was 10:30 and she would have kept on going!
The car ride did finally knock her out though 🙂
It was SUCH an awesome day! I never have gone over Labor Day weekend before and I don’t know if it’ll always be a low-crowd time to go but the crowds were great! We had a blast and just loved taking our time at our favorite place!
