Zach and I (and our kids now too!) live very scheduled lives. If you try to book plans with us, at least if you want to do something over a weekend, you need to pretty much give me a 1-2 month in advance notice. Even then sometimes we’re booked solid! Rarely do we have a completely free weekend. They just don’t seem to ever happen for us! It’s funny because I’ve actually had to work on this. A couple of summer’s ago we literally were out of town for seven weekends in a row. And this is when Kye was under a year old. It was intense. Fun. But too crazy to ever do again. So now I try to only plan full weekends two times a month. I try to leave two weekends out of each month where we have laid-back things to do like a birthday party or something. So that way we all get to RELAX a little!!! I love to be on the go but it’s important to find balance too π
A few weeks ago a weekend randomly popped up where we had NOTHING to do. It was SO STRANGE. I know most people crave lazy weekends…but I’m a stay at home mom. I’m stuck in my house evvvvverrrryyyy dayyyyy especially with a young baby who is on a hardcore nap schedule. We never go anywhere during the week. The weekends are my GO time! It was Friday night and we literally had no clue what we were going to do that Saturday!
Zach had been talking about taking Kye out to the farm (Mr Rusty has a farm…I think it’s so random but I know to most people down south it’s the norm to have a relative who farms!) so they ran out there first thing that morning! Zach actually remembered to snap a few pics with his phone π
Kye helped drive the tractor!!!
That weekend Courtney had her kids solo b/c Brad was gone on a bachelor weekend with some friends so she and I had talked about possibly getting together. Why not have them come swim? The more we can use our pool the better right??? It kinda grew into a larger crew. Since Zach took Kye out to the farm Mr. Rusty and Mrs. Charlotte wanted to come by and then Kye invited Jolee to come too π He’s allllll about some big group parties!!!
It ended up being a super fun morning! Everyone came and hung out and we ordered pizza. Britt was able to nap and even get a little swimming in herself π I was excited for the older kids because they got to use the playground picnic table for the first time. It was so neat that they were able to eat all together without any adult supervision. We were all on the porch and they were waaaaay across the yard! They loved the freedom and it brought back so many fun memories for me of hanging out with my cousins. I love that Kye gets to experience a similar bond to his cousins like I did!
There was some pizza drama with Levi, our dog, he got quite full by the end of lunch π
Britt and Mr Rusty matched in their yellow!
I was a few days into my 24 day challenge at this point. I was LOVING it and feeling great (and did NOT eat any pizza!!!) but I was also pretty bloated. You can kinda tell in these pictures. Like Zach and I were FREAKING out thinking that I was pregnant. With my supply issues and being bloated I got nervous. My stomach was the only bloated thing on me…it was semi-pregnant looking and felt hard! When he went to pick up the pizzas he also grabbed a pregnancy test and I took it that next morning. Negative π The bloating went down within a few days and was most likely from the fiber drink of the challenge. Then the weight started dropping too and I felt even better!!! You’ll see as I catch up on blogging that the Advocare products really have helped me get my body back to where I want to be π It has been totally worth being bloated for a few days for sure!!! You can see my 24 Day Challenge story here!
Britt is really starting to LOVE the water…well…maybe not LOVE but she’s not crying anymore π
We all had a great time enjoying the pool and just being lazy together!
Our little no-plans Saturday ended up being quite fun!!! Who better to spend free-time with than family right??? So blessed that we all live so close to each other and are able to get together randomly whenever we want π I also LOVE having a place where we all can gather and have a feeling that many more days like these are in our future!
