When Zach and I got married (5 years ago…) we registered for everything under the sun. We sent out 450 wedding invitations and I was blessed with seven different wedding showers. So we got a lot of wonderful presents. One gift that has sat in the box, unopened, since our wedding day has been our waffle maker. And it’s not just some cheap-o waffle maker. This junk was like $40!!! I pictured us using it someday when we had kids and that day is finally here. We packed it for our trip and decided to put it to use on Sunday morning!
Everyone helped make the waffles 🙂
He took his job very seriously
Waffle Time!!!
Britt had some too (without any chocolate chips)
Um they were AMAZING. I’ve had a little craving for them ever since 🙂
We enjoyed our waffle morning then Kye and I went down to do the craft for the day when Brittlynn napped. We got to decorate shirts! I didn’t know fabric markers existed. SO AWESOME. Like for real I want to buy some and do this craft again. How fun and to have something you can actually use at the end 🙂 Kye LOVED it. This was one of those projects that was more work for me but I think his shirt turned out pretty great! He even wore it to school when we got back so he could show his class 🙂
Front…he wanted an airplane, dinosaur, choo choo, pink gorilla, a bird and his name twice
Back (you can tell I got better as I went as I loved the back!): A race car, school bus, horse, cat and helicopter
The boys went for a fun dip at the Splash Park while Brittlynn finished up her morning nap. It all really worked out well. The crafts were the PERFECT thing for me to do with Kye as I love that kind of thing and then he and Zach were able to go be adventurous at the water park 🙂 Win win! I took a few pics of Britt’s set up for her “room.” We put her in the bathroom but still used the sheet to hang up around her so we could use the toilet when needed! It was a great set-up, she slept wonderfully our entire stay!
As soon as Brittlynn got up from her nap I nursed her then we hoped in the car and picked up the boys at the Splash Park and headed over to the putt-putt. They had a little course on property and we wanted to make sure to play on it at least once!
Hole in One!!!
Kye really impresses me with his golfing skills. He is only 3 1/2 yet pays SUCH good attention. He really watches the ball and focuses on lining it up correctly. When I was kid we would just run, throw the ball in the hole, and move on to the next one haha I think it’s great that he takes it seriously and truly enjoys the game. I’m hopeful it will be something he’ll always enjoy 🙂
I had him go stand back in the exact spot again to show how far he putted the ball and made it in the hole!!!
Getting lined up
Watching her brother 🙂
Modeling for me 😉
Almost made it!
Going to play putt-putt in Orlando at 11 am…one thing is for sure…it was HOT. Thankfully every single hole had these awesome fans. These rings went around the fans and sprayed a wonderfully cool mist of water continuously. It was Heaven!
Pink ball, of course!
Such a fun Daddy!!!
Can’t you tell Brittlynn was having a blast??? I love seeing her so happy!
We might have another golfer on our hands 😉
Work it girl hahaha
We are always hardcore about car seats, of course. However, we let Kye ride in laps when we go to my moms house since it’s just in our neighborhood (and hey it’s good for him to practice “driving” right????). Well everything on the resort property was super close so we let the kids ride in our laps. We rolled the windows down and had such a blast! Brittlynn really enjoyed feeling the wind on her face. For me, I think I cherish the random little moments in life. The four of us riding together for those 2 minutes was so wonderful to me. Just feeling true happiness with those I love the most!
We fed the kids lunch then they went down for naps. Since it was Sunday we worshiped as a family after nap time. I, of course, love getting to spend my Sundays with my church family in worship but having our own little worship time was so special. Kye took it all very seriously and Zach let him say a few prayers. It was adorable. He also listened to the lesson Zach taught us (about “the golden rule”) and it fit in perfectly with my new parenting book Shepherding a Child’s Heart. I’m doing a virtual Bible Study hosted by Kelly and am LOVING the impact it’s making on our family. Parenting to the heart of my children is a new concept for me but I think it’s so great that this book has the goal of raising our children in accordance to God’s will for them. It has been such a blessing to us already! I’m thankful Zach is on board to read it as well. I have the patience required and Zach has the bible knowledge so as a team we can do great things for our children!!!
