Our third day was also our last full day of our trip! We kicked things off with free food in the Club Level dining area…and coffffeeee too!
Then we headed to Hollywood Studios! We totally took our time because we didn’t have any ride we felt was worth getting there before opening to RUSH to. Sure, we love Toy Story Mania but this trip was more about taking our time and ENJOYING the days rather than being strategic and having to rush.
Um. Yall. We have NEVER arrived at a park at it’s actual opening time. We’re always, ALWAYS there so early. I was SHOCKED at how far back we had to park. Zach actually ended up dropping me off then parking. I waited ages in bag check. It was NUTS.
I’ve said it plenty of times but I ALWAYS recommend arriving at any Disney park an hour prior to park opening. You wait then so you don’t have to wait once it opens 🙂
It was a different vibe arriving at park opening, the park was more ALIVE and FUN which I didn’t mind at all 🙂 I enjoyed the little show out front…and won!
They asked if anyone had an unopened water bottle and BOOM I had it!!!
So I won…a free 5×7 print out photo. Which we didn’t end up redeeming but still fun to WIN!
We literally had ZERO plans. No fast passes. Nothing. I had one thing I really wanted to do while at DHS and otherwise was just down for whatever. We’ve never met Minnie and Mickey at DHS before so we figured, why not? We had a nice casual walk and then hopped into the line with really no wait 🙂
Minnie looking SO FAB!!!
Zach is always crushing on Minnie!
We chatted with Minnie about how Mickey needs to put a ring on it and we let him know the same when we saw him 😉 Which finger would the ring go on though? Hmmm.
My main mouse!
Ready to get our Star Wars fix!!!
I LOVE the “I love you” and “I know” attire. Love the old school Star Wars references, love Han Solo. Love their love! Rather than get us shirts though Zach saw these hats and we went that route. We got tons of compliments on them and both agreed we liked them much better than the shirts! They are from Disney Store and fit great 🙂
This was my personal favorite outfit of the entire trip! I had SO much fun planning my outfits out because I didn’t have to worry about the kids and what they were wearing 😉 The skirt was SO comfortable and I kinda wished we’d stayed longer so I could wear it longer too ha!
So pumped for SOLO!!!
We heard from Mrs Charlotte that Kye had a bit of a fever. Both the girls had just gotten over the weird virus that came with a high temp so I wasn’t shocked but still felt bad for him. We sent him some pics to help cheer him up!
We couldn’t be at Hollywood Studios and NOT meet up with Chewy!!!
We found some super mega cool gifts for our kids in the Star Wars shop (saving ’em for Christmas) and while they were finishing up with them we hit up the Disney Jr shop across the way. Mickey Pretzels are my favvvvv and I wanted it allllll!
My main goal at DHS was to go visit One Man’s Dream. I know. Random. But we’ve passed through it many times and never gotten to go through and ENJOY it and READ it all. As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I don’t have a lot of knowledge about Walt Disney or the history of the parks. I want to learn more and just wanted to be able to have the luxury of browsing through everything without rushing to an attraction or dealing with any kids to keep happy 🙂
A lot of the info we read over was also touched on during our tour which I loved getting to read more into things we had already heard a bit about. Not only was Walt Disney a SUPER interesting person but I just can’t get over how many ideas he came up with that were SO ahead of the times.
There is a theater inside One Man’s Dream and we were able to watch the first 9 minutes of Incredibles 2 which was fun!
A really cool story I learned is actually about one of my favorite attractions: Tiki Room! I never knew that originally it was set to be a restaurant in Disneyland and that Walt kept changing it and coming up with more ideas for it. He thought of an idea to have an animatronic bird while guests ate, then he added more birds and thought of the idea of them putting on a show for the guests. THEN he decided to do away with the dining idea all together and make it a full attraction. The tiki birds were actually the first ever animatronics!
Lots more fun facts for anyone wanting to read ’em 🙂
Had to get some Star Wars pics in our outfits!
SO PUMPED for the Star Wars Land opening next year!
Yup that was our entire morning at the parks haha. We took our time meeting some characters, learning more about Walt, watching Incredibles 2, and taking pics then headed out!
And yes, getting there at park opening means you’re parked so far back that you have to ride the parking tram! C-RAZY!
We decided to get lunch back at the resort and I’m so glad we did because our sandwiches were perfect! I was also tempted to get some Mickey shaped treats but resisted 🙂
We got our sandwiches then headed to that Club Level VIP area to grab all the freebies haha
Candy Bar WHOOP WHOOP!!!
Yall know how cheap we are. We were PUMPED when we saw they had baggies to fill up the candy in! We loaded UP on stuff to take back for everyone!!!
When we got to the room the staff had left me a gift 🙂 Every time I passed the front desk I took a couple pieces of taffy so they gave me an entire bag full to take home!
I also had ANOTHER surprise waiting for me!!!
Zach had ordered an anniversary celebration gift from Disney to be delivered in our room! They did mess up and didn’t deliver it on our actual anniversary but hey that made it even more of a surprise 🙂
An ice bucket, two Mickey glasses, sparkling Grape Juice and chocolates!
Our next stop was the POOL! A big part of our focus on the trip was enjoying each other and Disney at a relaxed pace and it really couldn’t have gone more perfectly. The pool area at Yacht Club was gorgeous and we got some good time in before the rain started coming 🙂
We had an awesome morning and afternoon! We enjoyed being lazy by the pool and taking our time getting ready for the second half of the day together.
If your planning a trip to Disney I highly recommend reaching out to my friend Carrie with Travel by Sisters! Using a Disney Travel Agent is FREE and she really took so much of the stress in planning our trip off my shoulders 🙂
If you’re wanting to stay off property when you visit the Disney area then you should def take a look at our Disney Rental House! It’s less than 10 min from the parks (literally it took us the same driving time from the Disney Resort as it takes us from our rental home) and has many perks that the resorts can’t offer: like MUCH lower prices, TONS more space, a private pool and hot tub, a game room, and a kitchen stocked with everything you need! We even offer a discount for blog readers here 🙂
