Playing in the Leaves

We don’t have many trees in our actual back yard (in fact, we only have one!) but we have several just outside of our fence. Many are technically on our property, we just didn’t want to have to level all the land to put the fence up! Our yard was pretty well covered with leaves so Zach thought of the idea to rake them up and let the kids play in them. SUCH a fun time!!!

Loved watching our Christmas tree while we played!

Kye became VERY focused on raking the leaves himself. He said he was “working” and took it extremely seriously. Everyday he’d ask if his pile was still there. We wanna find him a kids size rake for his birthday for sure!

Britt enjoyed watching her brother do all the work 😉

Non-stop working 😉

Since the leaf pile had been so much fun for Kye, Zach had the idea to let the older kids play in the leaves during Britt’s party. Fine by me! When the party ended Kye, Colt, and Payton were still having a BLAST so we headed outside to let them play together in the beautiful weather 🙂

Yes, we just left Britt in only her diaper and hair bow to play outside. I know it LOOKS like we were crazy letting our baby outside in December like that. But seriously…it was SO WARM she was totally fine! She was content as could be playing with her new sunglasses 🙂

Laying down the law haha

Waiting for Zach to get the leaf pile ready…

and they’re off!

Enjoying the show from a safe distance haha

Having the three of them together got pretty wild pretty fast so we had them each take individual turns

Yes, he needed to go tee-tee. Haha

Britt’s turn!

In-between turns they all played with our outside toys

OF COURSE Zach had to have a turn too…

Love!

We had a nice time all just enjoying each other. It was GREAT not being in a huge rush. The party got over so early that we had time to just CHILL! It was a great afternoon for sure 🙂

The after party haha

We all enjoyed playing in the leaves! Have any of you ever read The Face on the Milk Carton? I ALWAYS think of that book whenever I see people jumping in leaf piles. When I read it as a young teen I thought that was THE ultimate romantic moment 🙂

Hanging out with family after Britt’s party was such a nice way to end a wonderful day. Both Kye and Britt had SO much fun that day and my heart was full beyond measure. I love seeing my babies so happy!

A & B got a little wheelbarrow and rake, shovel, & hoe set for their birthday (4 and 2). They both LOVE it and actually are helpful with it….great gift!
