Snow Day at the library is one of our favorite family traditions. Last year we ended up missing out on it because I think they canceled it due to weather and never rescheduled? Or they hosted it earlier in the season and I didn’t know about it? I can’t really remember! This year it DID get rescheduled but we made sure to be able to make it!
It was smaller this year but it worked out because they didn’t do such a great job spreading the word. I assumed it’d be CRAZY crowded. The original date was on a Friday, at 3:30, when kids were in school. So we’d planned to pick up Kye from school that day and go straight there and assumed hardly anyone would be there because most people in the community work and can’t pick kids up from school like that. The new date was a Saturday. I don’t know if all towns are this way but when places in our community have events for the entire town? They get CRAZY crowded. I fully anticipated a large crowd with it on a Saturday but we were pleasantly surprised!
Britt was SO excited to pick out a hat and gloves and she took pride in picking out some for Tess to use too π
At first we told the kids no snowballs but then we realized what in the world else could they do?!? So we did a no snowballs above the neck rule and it worked out pretty well! That fake snow turns to ice though pretty quick so they were some legit snowballs.
Little Sister can hold her own π
I’m so glad I captured this moment. That smile Britt has for her sister is the most heart melting smile isn’t it? She ADORES Tess and it shows!
G-Mama is always down for some fun, and I love that she WANTS to be part of the memory making!
Tess was all about it and I just love this age where you can truly tell when she’s having fun!
Carter came too!
Tess has been obsessed with singing “circle like a ball” from school and she sang it for everyone π
BFFs
On our way we stopped at a red light and saw some of our good friends from church. They were on their way to the park and I told them we were heading to snow day and of course their kids wanted to tag along. Oops!
These two have been buddies from birth! So thankful for our sweet church family π
Gotta build a snowman (it’s totally G-Mama’s thing at this event!)
We didn’t see Kye a whole lot because he was ALL about some snowball fights and all the girls from church flocked to him. I told Zach it’s exactly what we want: if he’s going to have girls around we want them to be sweet Christian ones with good families!
Kye’s gloves got SOAKED so he borrowed mine π
So. Adorable.
Stripe twinning with my sister!
So incredibly thankful for her and the unbreakable bond we share!
Tess is also very obsessed with Aunt Casey π
She wanted to join their family…just like Christmas morning!
I love love love that Courtney, Casey and I all had babies together and I pray that Tab will have a BFF cousin too! It’s precious to see all of our kids together, and to all be so close to each other’s children as well. Have I ever mentioned how blessed we are? π
It was a fun family outing! Nothing like playing in snow in almost 80 degree South Georgia heat π
