Spear is 13 Months Old!

Spear turned 13 months old on January 1st!

Once my babies turn a year old I pull out my “What to Expect the Toddler Years”.  So much changes during the second year of life and I enjoy the chance to see how my babies are doing with their milestones and development. 

At 13 months old Spear is doing everything he should be able to do including:

  • pull up to standing
  • get into sitting position 
  • cruise
  • clap hands
  • indicates wants in ways other than crying

He is also doing a couple things a toddler his age will probably be able to do including:

  • put an object into a container
  • imitate activities

He is not yet:

  • standing alone
  • using 1 recognizable word

He is doing one thing a 13 month old may possibly be able to do: drink from a cup.

But he’s not yet:

  • using 3 recognizable words
  • pointing to a desired object
  • scribbling
  • walking well

Spear is doing a couple things a 13 month old may even be able to do including:

  • use a spoon/fork
  • use an object in imitation (loves brushing his hair!)

He is not yet:

  • removing an article of clothing
  • pointing to 1 body part when asked
