Summer Recap 2017: Week 9

Our entire 8th week of summer we were living it UP at the beach! So this post covers web 9…our post-beach week!

The condo where we stay has a washer and dryer but y’all I’m anti-laundry on vacation. But I’m also that person that feels like anything that went on a beach trip…probably needs to be washed when you get back home. Needless to say…it was SO MUCH LAUNDRY!!!

While on the trip I mentioned that I had both an ear infection and some mouth sores that we were pretty sure was thrush that came from the antibiotic I’d been taking the week prior. I still didn’t feel well so I decided to spend Monday morning at our walk-in clinic. She told me she didn’t think any of my issues were related. I got sinus meds as she thought that was the ear issue, some cocktail of meds made into a mouth wash for the mouth sores, and some other antibiotics to hopefully get me feeling back to normal!

Zach also switched up my phone wallpaper while at the beach haha!

I had originally scheduled our annual fire station visit for this week but when I made the event page for it a bunch of people said they had VBS so I rescheduled. It was then I realized that a local congregation had VBS that week and TONS of people we know attend that VBS and help run it. I didn’t feel super mega comfortable with taking the kids since it’s not our home church but Zach always talks about how much he loved summer VBS as a kid and I know it’s so valuable for the kids to deepen bonds with fellow christians. They all three wanted to go and we made it just in time after the walk-in. This VBS was SO LEGIT!

Dropping them off gave me a couple hours…most of which was spent sitting and waiting for my prescriptions. #ugh

THEY LOVED IT!!! Like loved loved loved!

We needed our monthly groceries super bad so Kye went shopping with me that evening. It was so good for him to see firsthand how much things COST.

I discovered in Mexico that I like sushi! Who knew!!!

All three kids agreed that they wanted to go for the full week to VBS. It was from 9-12 Mon -Fri which meant a super easy week for Mama πŸ˜‰ And a super fun week for them!

Tuesday was Cow Appreciation Day at CFA. We’ve never participated in Cow Day before! I’ve always seen people super hardcore into it and I thought it was dumb to spend a bunch of money for free food? And it always looked like a ZOO.

But I got a pack of cheap cow masks and figured why not go for it? We kept it simple…and it wasn’t TOO crazy crowded!

So creative haha

PLUS we got another kids meal they’d forgotten to ring us up for! COMPLETELY FREE y’all. And Z and I got fancier sandwiches than we’ve ever gotten (bacon?!). It was AWESOME!

They also had ice cream sundae night so we traded in the toys for ice cream and I was able to divide the free ice cream out so we all got some!

Even Mama πŸ˜‰

Completely and totally free meal…including dessert! We’re sold! Keeping those cow masks for next year πŸ˜‰

And we saw the Mullican Fam!

Britt didn’t have speech Monday which worked out great for VBS but she did have it Wednesday and her instructor even said she was SO EAGER to get out of there for VBS. So awesome that the kids loved it that much!

William came with us that day but didn’t want a picture πŸ˜‰

Sidenote but Tess also STOLE THAT BOOK she’s holding! I didn’t realize it till we got in the car so I made her take it back the next day and apologize πŸ˜‰

Movies during nap with William!

I found my bag roaster chicken, PTL b/c that other one was YUCK to deal with!

Prime Day was during this week so I found SO MANY DEALS. On top of the Prime Day Deals I also was on the deal hunt for office stuff for Zach. With his new job he needed a legit office which meant he also needed office furniture.

I got lots of questions about my shorts when I posted this…they are from New York and Co! Which I know is SUPER random but they are the PERFECT length (4 inches) and they don’t wrinkle πŸ™‚

Day 4 of VBS!

(notice Tess returning the book!)

G-Mama picked them all up from VBS to take them on a lunch date. They all also went to Dollar General and got a prize. #spoiled

My delivery guy LOVES ME πŸ˜‰

This didn’t even include the stuff I ordered but did slow shipping on!

It was a BIG delivery day and so fun to open it all! We got some GREAT deals!

Zach isn’t usually into the deals with me but he did join in for Prime Day and it was a super fun memory I’ll always cherish. There was a glitch when Prime Day first started and we were getting things for like 70% off! It was CRAZY and SO awesome!

I’m SUPER indecisive and I’ve realized that IG Stories are WHERE IT’S AT! I can ask for help and input and SO many people are so sweet to offer up their thoughts! I plan to totally do this more often as it really helped me in deciding our family picture outfits πŸ˜‰

Daddy was out of town so it meant movie dinner night and knocking something off our summer bucket list: Mommy Date Time!

Each of the big kids got 30 min with me to do whatever they wanted πŸ™‚ It worked out great as the other two kids watched the movie!

Kye chose video games (shocker)

And Britt chose snuggling in my bed and watching a movie πŸ˜‰

Don’t you LOVE when you find some random clothing item in your closet that you totally forgot you owned? So. Awesome!

This is what happens when you walk into VBS when they are singing “Booster Booster Be a Booster!” haha!

By Friday my slow ship stuff started to arrive including MY INSTANT POT!!! Last year on Prime Day I wanted one and everyone was grabbing them for $69. I waited an entire year for Prime Day to come again and I scored this for $44! Whoop Whoop!!!

SPAM ME with your favorite instapot recipes!!!!!!

Our dvds also arrived from an older co-op deal I did. We have two new to us shows to start on our next trip!

Last Day of VBS was another success! They can’t wait to go back next year πŸ™‚

Daddy got home and we all snuggled up to end the week with an episode of Rapunzel! (It’s super cute if you’re looking for a family friendly show to watch together).
