Back in May Kye had Mom’s Day at school and he gave me a little sunflower. Zach and Kye planted it in the backyard…along with some random corn looking stuff that had started growing under our bird feeder. I looked out the kitchen window one morning and saw our sunflower in bloom!!!
The birdseed corn…I don’t think we’ll be eating this anytime soon?!?! I think it’s a weed haha
The sunflower is SUPER tall!
He was super pumped to see it in bloom and excited that it grew!
It grew so tall that it only lasted a couple days then fell over…I’m glad I happened to see it so we got to enjoy it while it lasted! Zach has cut it, and the “corn”, down now. He has mentioned maybe planting a little garden with the kids and I think that’d be a fun project for them to do. I’m terrible at keeping plants alive and am one of those people who just doesn’t get into growing stuff. But I’ll eat it if they grow something I like 😉
