Every year for each of our kids’ birthdays we write them birthday letters from each of us. While I love that my kids will have letters from mom from each year of their lives, I especially love that they will have these letters from their dad. A birthday letter from dad to daughter is just something extra-special and meaningful. What girl wouldn’t love to look back and see the hard work her daddy put into birthday letters for every year older she turned?
That dad daughter bond is so special and I know the birthday wishes to Zach’s little princess Tess on her 7th birthday will be something that fills her heart so full when we gift her with all of her birthday letters on her 18th birthday!
These letters don’t have to be something that takes a lot of work or time. Even just a quick note to your darling daughter or sweet son on their special day filled with birthday wishes will mean so much through the years.
I love putting these letters on the blog not only to have included in the blog books I print of each year, but also to be able to include photos of the birthday child with that parent throughout the year. Tessie changed SO MUCH from age 6 to 7 but she’s still Zach’s baby girl!
Tess,
What a year! This has been my favorite year of your life. Your personality has absolutely exploded. Last year you definitely blossomed, but this year is on a different level. And your comedic timing is so good for a 7-year-old!!!! You and I have become so tight! I love coming home and seeing your smile. Then you hug me and say “hey Daddy” with a smirk and a little bit of a southern twang. It is so adorable. I love you so much!
You have also shown an interest in golf. I really hope this continues so we can play golf together when you are older. I love going to the range and hitting balls with you. You will just keep hitting them until I tell you it’s time to go.
Another big thing this year was the love for your younger brother! You are going to be such a great mom. You are a little bit of a helicopter sister for sure, but you love Spear so so much. He always asks to play with you, and most of the time you do. Even though it may not be what you want to play, you play along and make him so happy.
This year has also brought a little height for you! Not that I have to worry about you growing out of your treehouse bed anytime soon, but you did get tall enough to ride more thrill rides. Some of the rides you were disappointed that you couldn’t ride last year, you were tall enough for this year. I was sure that some would be too big and scary, but nope, not for big, brave Tessie. I love how adventurous you are! If you are tall enough to ride it, you will ride. You are so fearless!!
It is awesome how much you love Haunted Mansion. You will be laughing on the ride while other kids are screaming and crying!! Haha! I am not sure which roller coaster is your favorite but you for sure never back down from any of them! I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
Lastly, but most importantly, you bring the JOY! You make others around you smile and you put others happiness before yours. It is an unbelievable thing to see in a 7-year-old, and is a great lesson to others. You always want everyone to be happy. I am so proud of you for caring for others in this way. I just hope that as you get older you realize that you deserve happiness as well.
You can find a balance between both. It’s ok for you to want something, and for you to get your way sometimes. You deserve the world, and you deserve to be the happiest person on earth. I wish I could give that to you. I know one day you will grow up and have to figure these things out on your own. Just remember, you are awesome, you are important, and what you want does matter.
I love you so much and cannot wait to check back in next year. Thank you for making me smile every, single, day!!!! Happy birthday my little girl, my beautiful daughter.
I love you,
Daddy
